5 Spots to Visit on a Virginia Winery Getaway

Afton Mountain Vineyards

Afton Mountain Vineyards has a tasting room with an excellent and knowledgeable staff. The patio, lawn and Pavilion available on a first come, first serve basis. Pollak Vineyards

The grounds of Pollak Vineyards are beautiful with a nearby lake and tons of outside seating. Masks are required and groups must be 6 people or less.  Open Wed.–Sun. Noon–5 p.m. Reservations required. pollakvineyards.com

Veritas Vineyard & Winery

Veritas is a very popular stop on the wine trail. It offers a large tasting room with a beautiful fireplace and tons of comfortable seating. There is a large deck outside and the grounds are scattered with picnic tables and wooden rocking chairs. Masks required and no parties larger than 10 allowed. King Family Vineyards

Another popular spot along the trail, King Family Vineyards is extremely family- and pet-friendly. There is plenty of grass space for laying down a picnic blanket and several options for outside seating. Masks are required and all seating is a first come, first serve basis. Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards

Pippin Hill Farm’s Tasting Room is located in a gorgeous, rustic-chic converted barn and has both indoor and outdoor seating. It is pet-friendly with plenty of space for pets and kids alike to run around. Open Tues.–Sun. 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Reservations recommended. pippinhillfarm.com
