Owner Kyle Hurst, an active duty Army Officer, strives to make Battery Island Brewing a part of the community whenever possible, supporting local events and businesses. Food and beer pairings, in-house events, entertainment, and good company are brewery highlights.

Frey’s Brewing Company was started in 2012 by Air Force vet, Adam Frey. It is a small, farm brewery on the Frederick County side of Mount Airy, Maryland. Our tasting room has given our historic bank-barn a second life and has a beautiful backdrop of rolling fields. We provide an intimate and relaxing setting to enjoy one of our 15+ craft beers. A full menu, including gluten-free items, is available. Frey’s is dog-friendly. Babies and supervised children ages 12 and up are welcome.

Olde Mother Brewing Company is nestled in the heart of Frederick, MD. The brewery’s cozy taproom invites patrons to savor each sip while soaking in the rustic charm. From hop-forward IPAs to robust stouts, their offerings showcase a mastery of brewing techniques. Families are welcome to enjoy the great food from Fifty Fifty, a food truck located in the brewery. Kids are welcome. Dogs are only allowed on the patio.

Patriot Acres Farm Brewery is a veteran-owned and operated brewery in Sudlersville, on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The hops and other ingredients are grown by the 4th generation farmers on this 100-acre farm. Good craft beer and a quiet, enjoyable atmosphere on a working farm are brewery goals. Family activities are available for those under the age so that all visitors have a memorable experience and will return often. Dogs are not permitted.

The Pigtown brewery is co-owned by United States Coast Guard veteran Jason Howard. They are located blocks from Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium, and make an array of brew styles with a concentration on American and European ales and lagers. Food trucks are generally on-site. Ten Eyke Brewing in Queenstown is locally owned by a team of women veterans and first responders. They aim to create the highest quality and most delicious beers and ciders for the community and provide a delightful customer experience to those visiting the taproom. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are allowed in the taproom and beer garden. Kids are welcome and must remain at the table with their parents. Local food trucks bring their dishes to Ten Eyck, and you are always welcome to picnic.
