August 1–2: The Sudlersville Peach Festival in Sudlersville will celebrate the peach harvest with food, entertainment, and vendors. Free.

July 2 – 7, Smithsonian Folklife Festival, National Mall in Washington, D.C. The theme this year is Youth and the Future of Culture. Young musicians and entrepreneurs, skaters and artists, activists and craftspeople, and a host of others will collaborate, share, demonstrate, and discuss how they are shaping the future on their own terms. July 4, Rockville Independence Day Celebration, Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park, Rockville. 7-10pm. Enjoy live music from a variety of bands and a 20-minute fireworks display at 9:15pm

July 4, Shady Side July 4th Parade. Everyone is invited to particiapte. Participants should arrive no later than 9:30am. Parade starts at 10am. Floats line up on Cedarhurst Road and check in at Corner Grill. Cars, trucks, ATV’s and any motorized vehicles should line up on West River Road and check in near the post office. Walkers and bicycles will meet in the driveway of Shady Side Soft Serve and check in at the table.

July 4, Takoma Park 4th of July Parade and Evening Celebration. Parade at 10 am. Evening celebration from 6-9 pm, with Live Music, Food Trucks, Beer & Wine Garden, Kids’ Activities and more.

July 10 – 13, Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival.  St. Clement’s Island Museum, Colton’s Point. Visitors are encouraged to relax waterside on the scenic museum lawn and enjoy national jazz artists, lots of delicious local seafood and gorgeous views of the Potomac River. Ticket prices start at $80.16

July 11 – 13, Baltimore Washington One Carnival. Druid Hill Park, Baltimore. The Carnival festivities begin with a Caribbean-style parade that makes its way throughout the streets of Baltimore. The fun continues on Saturday afternoon and all day on Sunday, with a family, fun-filled, Caribbean festival showcasing live music and entertainment. General Admission Carnival tickets $20.

First Landing Wine and Arts Festival
