PRS Guitar Exhibit in the Museum of Historic Annapolis

Historic Annapolis(HA)  is pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibit in the Museum of Historic Annapolis at 99 Main Street.

“40 Years of PRS Guitars: A Journey of Tone”, the newest exhibit in the Museum’s Community Gallery, celebrates the founding of Maryland-based guitar manufacturer, PRS Guitars. From Paul Reed Smith’s first workshop in a historic Annapolis garret on West Street, to his state-of-the-art factory across the Chesapeake Bay in Stevensville, Maryland, the PRS Guitars story is one of remarkable determination and a passion for excellence in guitar making. The exhibit shares the company’s 40-year evolution and how it continues to amplify the music world as the third largest electric guitar manufacturer in the United States.

“I built my first guitars just a few blocks from where this exhibit is being held,” says Paul Reed Smith, Founder and General Managing Partner of PRS Guitars. “To have our story told here in the heart of Annapolis, where it all began, is very meaningful. We’re honored to be part of this city’s history and grateful to share our journey with the community.”

In addition to an actual PRS guitar, visitors can observe a video loop showing the behind-the-scenes manufacturing process, as well as historical ephemera and materials used to construct unique PRS guitars. Come visit and immerse yourself in the musical journey!

“Music lovers and guitar aficionados of all ages will love this fabulous collection of all things PRS – from photos and historical details, to examples of the exceptional craftsmanship that make up these revered instruments. The PRS Guitars story is part of Annapolis lore, and we are pleased to be able to present this wonderful partnership exhibit”,  says Karen Theimer Brown, President and CEO of Historic Annapolis.

The PRS Guitars exhibit is located on the first floor of the Museum of Historic Annapolis, at 99 Main Street, Annapolis, MD. Hours are Thursday to Monday 10 am – 4pm.
